Review of Jekyll and Hyde / Nerve – Double Bill, Reverend Productions – Syd Meats

Taking on board the idea of a creative response to reviews (see previous blog entry here) Syd Meats offers this review as part of the Reportage team’s preview review opportunity. We think he did it rather well.

Jekyll and Hyde / Nerve – Double Bill, Reverend Productions
Shelley Theatre, Bournemouth, Fri 30th October

My head hurts!
Am I in A&E?
I’ve had a nasty fall.
My new neighbour’s a surgeon. That’s fortunate!
Her brother’s terminally ill. Should we help him end his life?
Let’s sort the ceiling out! Let’s get pissed! That lightbulb keeps flashing!
We can both quit our addictions together!
Is that it?
Maybe it will make sense in the context of the second one-act play?

Blimey what a racket! Noisy neighbour!
Smoking, drinking, violence, pregnancy, sex. Not necessarily in that order.
A policeman can’t be a policeman out of uniform.
No one can take the moral high ground.
We are all murderers.
Is that it?
It ended with a sudden bump!
Is it time for Q&A?
My head hurts!

Watch this space for further reviews from Syd and the rest of the Reportage team.
